Wiltel Communications Systems, Inc. - Houston, Texas 1991- 1992

Vice President, Government Systems.

Department structure included design, engineering, sales and marketing, support engineering, and administrative staff. Annual sales exceeded $20 million or 121% of sales quota.

Centel Communications Systems - Houston ,Texas 1972 -1991

Director, Federal Systems. 1987- 1991

  • Department structure includes sales and marketing, support engineers, and administrative support staff.
  • Manage a vertical marketing group responsible for all Federal government sales in the Continental United States.
  • Direct all sales and management activates with an operating budget of $1,000,000 annually.
  • Sales results annually exceeded 110% of projected quota.

Federal Marketing Account Executive, 1981-1987

  • Responsibilities required the management of all sales and oversight activates on assigned Federal Government accounts including DOE, GSA, USPS, USAF, FBI, and USA.
  • Over a seven year period, pre and post-cutover sales activity exceeded $175 million.
  • Designed, engineered and negotiated DOE Nevada contract for $54 million 1983.
  • United States Air Force sales from 1985 to 1987 exceeded $14 million.

Contracts Manager, 1979-1981

  • Chief operating manager of a $5.5 million department with direct responsibility of revenue and expense to the gross profit line of the installation department of Dallas, Texas.
  • Insure that the predicted profit margins were met on all contracts.
  • Personally managed a $500,000 installation for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
  • Organized the efforts of the Installation, Utility, and Training Departments to guarantee that all contracts were completed to the satisfaction of all parties involved.

Customer Service Manager, 1977-1979

Responsible for insuring a healthy profit margin in the Service and Moves/Changes Departments. Kept all contracts updated and coordinated the efforts of all managers and support staff. From September 1978 to November 1979, the departments under the supervision of the Customer Service Manager experienced the following growth:

  • Moves and Changes Department- 63.1% growth with 31% Gross Profit.
  • Warranty Service - 87.1% growth with 27% Gross Profit
  • Contract Service - Loss of 70.8 thousand annually to 1.1 thousand Profit.
  • Time and Material Service -25% growth with 34% Gross Profit.
